“I find origin stories and concepts of archaic pasts fascinating as they resonate strongly with something very deep in the human psyche. Through telling and time these stories become Myths and Legends, which seem to merge our need to understand the universe and all its phenomena with our sense of magical connection to it. I have often explored these themes in my paintings and have selected these four works, which I feel most directly communicate these ideas, for this print series”

“ The Olive Tree feels almost sacred, being so deeply embedded in the history, landscape and mythology of the Mediterranean. Some years ago I embarked upon a series of works on the theme of the Olive Tree, I wanted to create paintings that felt like intimate portraits of individual trees whilst at the same time retaining a quality of archetypal images. I have selected these four mixed media works, which reproduce beautifully, for this series of giclee prints.”
