One of the many works in gouache and mixed media where I explored archetypal images of Olive Trees, trying to convey their elemental qualities. The dry red earth seemed to establish itself as a fundamental feature of the Mediterranean in all these works. I wanted these images to remain fairly spartan and transmit a sense of the timeless and sacred.
